Free news for East Riding – THEATRE HAILS MUSICAL SUCCESS
The Spa Bridlington is in talks regarding further musical tours following the outstanding success of Blood Brothers last week. The venue stepped in to secure musicals on the Yorkshire coast last year and are absolutely delighted with occupancy figures exceeding 80% for the run.
There were few dry eyes in the house as the story played out to 4,318 people over the week; some of whom had seen the show before. A customer posting on The Spa Bridlington’s Twitter feed (@spabrid) commented that he was watching his 55th performance.
Blood Brothers played eight performances over six days and each show saw multiple curtain calls from the cast and received standing ovations from the large audiences.
Andrew Aldis, general manager said, “We are delighted with the results for Blood Brothers but we are even more excited by the positive customer reaction. I believe people have seen this production as a game-changer for both The Spa Bridlington and the town and it’s great that we’ve been able to do it.”
“We can tell from the box office system that the majority of tickets were purchased by customers in Yorkshire and Hull but we saw people from as far afield as Kilmarnock, Brighton and Plymouth in attendance.”
