WILD FLAMBOROUGH
On Sunday, 3 August 2014, the Flamborough Management Scheme and its partners will host a free family event on Sewerby Cliffs, opposite Sewerby Hall, alongside the Bridlington Lions Carnival. The nature-themed event called Wild Flamborough is being co-ordinated by the Flamborough Management Scheme, in partnership with local organisations including the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) and Yorkshire Wildlife Trust (YWT).
From 10am – 4pm, visitors will have access to stalls, displays and craft activities, plus free guided walks throughout the day.
It is hoped that the event will encourage tourists, locals and residents from surrounding towns to go along and explore the unique environment of the East Yorkshire Coast. On the day, visitors will have the opportunity to walk with the RSPB and discover the wildlife hidden in Danes Dyke; gain bird watching tips from the experts at Yorkshire Coast Nature or discover how Flamborough is protected during a seashore walk with the Flamborough Project Officer before exploring the rock pools with the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.
Full details of guided walks are available on the Events Calendar of the East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s website, or contact the Flamborough Project Officer for more information on (01482) 391721 or email heather.davison@eastriding.gov.uk
