Computer repair in Welton is usually about two things: getting a Mac or laptop working again, or getting important files back. I handle both from my workshop in North Cave, roughly five miles away, with a free diagnosis before any work starts.

Welton is a quiet village between Brough and Elloughton, and many of the people I help here run a business or work from home. When the computer stops, so does the work, so I try to turn jobs around quickly and keep you updated.
Data Recovery for Welton Homes and Businesses
Lost family photos, a deleted folder or a drive that suddenly isn't recognised – this is work I do every week.
- In-house recovery for drives with no mechanical damage costs £80–£140 plus parts. That covers deleted files, corrupted drives and many "not detected" cases.
- Physically damaged drives – clicking, grinding or dropped drives – go to my long-standing partner, Lazarus Data Recovery, a Western Digital Platinum Data Recovery Partner with clean-room facilities.
- No fix, no fee applies to data recovery.
Stop using a failing drive straight away. Every extra minute it runs can make recovery harder. The external hard drive recovery page has more detail.

MacBook and iMac Repair
Macs are popular in Welton, and they're a regular part of the work. Common jobs include MacBooks that won't turn on, slow iMacs that need an SSD, batteries that swell or drain fast, and screens. Older iMacs can often be given years more life with an SSD and a memory upgrade. See MacBook and iMac repair for more.

Remote Support for Home Workers
Not every problem needs a visit. For software faults – email not syncing, a program that won't install, a printer that has vanished from the network – I can often connect remotely and fix it while you watch. It's quick and you don't have to unplug anything.
Set Up a Backup Before You Need One
The cheapest data recovery is the one you never need. I can set up an automatic backup to an external drive or cloud storage, so a dead drive becomes a minor annoyance rather than a disaster.
Welton is on the edge of the free 5-mile collection area, so call with your address and I'll tell you whether collection is free.
Printers, Wi-Fi and Home Office Set-Ups
A lot of computer repair work in Welton isn't about the computer at all. It's the printer that won't print, the Wi-Fi that drops out upstairs, or the second monitor that won't wake up. These problems can waste a whole morning.
I can set up your home office properly: printer and scanner on the network, Wi-Fi coverage where you work, monitors and docking stations, and a backup running in the background. If your router or Wi-Fi equipment is the weak link, I'll explain the options in plain English without pushing you to buy anything you don't need.
Email for your business
If you use your own domain for email, I can set it up on your computer, phone and tablet so everything stays in sync. See email setup and support.
Welton Computer Repair FAQs
How much does data recovery cost?
In-house recovery for drives without mechanical damage is £80–£140 plus parts. Physically damaged drives are quoted separately through Lazarus Data Recovery.
My drive is clicking. What should I do?
Turn it off and leave it off. A clicking drive usually has a mechanical fault, and running it can scratch the disk surface.
Can you fix my Mac remotely?
Software problems often can be. Hardware faults need the Mac on the bench.
Do you collect from Welton?
Welton sits right on the 5-mile boundary. Call with your address and I'll confirm whether collection is free.
